Having been on death row 21 years without a
fair trial, I can tell you plenty. Firstly, over all this
time I've known hundreds of row prisoners living
and executed, all except a very small handful
have known others in prisons, often in the same
prison for very similar crimes and worse who had
lesser sentences. Some knew - know - dozens.
The beat goes on.
When a roll of the dice and vast discrepencies
in the quality of legal representation and other
egregious factors determine who lives or dies,
this ain't fair dealing and justice, its Satanism
which is why it'll never be harmonized in treatment.
Secondly, for politically concious folks everywhere
but particularly in the USA who are into civil rights
and fair dealing many of whom support the death
penalty know this: there's nothing so blatantly racist
and discriminatory as the death penalty. Its
acceptance is like putting a flag on the nation
saying, "Yes, I'm for racism and discrimination,"
Its fait accompli. I know many will loath the connection
but its undeniable ! By endorsement of the death
penalty you tell those in the branches of government
and others you willingly tolerate some racism and
discrimination.
As was said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice
everywhere," or something to that effect.
Peace to you.
