                                  "Life"

People think life is for the living
and the rich,
I think it's for anyone who
reaches out and grabs it.

To live in this life and do as you
please, don't mean you have to always be on
your knees.
For life is for all both you and me,
and if you look into the situation,
that, you will see.

Life was not given to us to keep,
it was given to us so we can truly
understand the deep-deep

So enjoy life and enjoy it real well,
but while living search for God so
you won't go to Hell.

Life Note:

The love for life has always come first with the author of this book, until he was sentenced to death for a crime he didn't do.
Now he doesn't treasure life as much. Now this thought didn't come from his sentence, but it came from the love of his God and family.
The author now know life isn't Lhat much if you can't help someone along the way while living.
No man or woman should have to go through all this suffering and despair I now find myself going through now. But my suffering and despair helps a lost child out in the world somewhere, then let me suffer on death row America, for I would rather suffer on this death row writing poems of love and understanding helping people, than to live in a big house in Beverly Hills, Cal doing nothing but getting fat off the poor if So this poem, " Life " was written in hopes of sharing the new found love I have in my God and in you my fellow man.      ---William Jones

                                                       "Time"

Since I've been on death row,
I've got a lot of time on
my hand,
To sit down and  really try to
understand my fellow man.

I've learned that he is more than
just mere skin color,
and it really makes no difference
who was his mother.

I've had time on my hands to
really get things together.
maybe by me writing poems
make me a little better.

I've got time on my hands and
I'm not going anyplace fast,
I will just sit in this little
cell and write poems till the last.

Times' Note:

Time is something this author didn't consider while in the free and outside world.   Just like most of you. He didn't consider the fact, its here one second and gone for all eternity the next.
All of us must enjoy those seconds.  The colors of many beautiful things are changed forever in one second, and that beauty will never return.  So take seconds out of your life to notice the beauty thats all around you.  The smile of your wife, the way your husband sleeps while watching tv, the look on your childs face when he or she lost their first tooth.
Please take time to notice all the beauty, for time holds nothing in her hands but time.

                                       "The Spirit Of Love"

Love can build your hopes up so high,
it can have your spirits wanting to
fly.

Love can be your friend and your pal,
Love can be your gal,
Love can be in the eyes of newlyweds,
Love can be, twobrothers getting
bunk-beds.

Love can be your first kiss and the joy
that's in your heart,
Love can also be the pain when you
are apart.

Love can be in beautiful flowers,
that people stand and admire for hours.
Love is something we all need to find,
while the dear Lord is granting us time.

The Spirit of Love

We must start to live, we mut start doing the things that are in our heart.  Now, please tell, me when is there a better time than now.
When you live free always seeking life, then you will find a love along the way.
It maybe in the peddles of a bright red rose.  It may be in the eyes of a man or woman.  But if you seek life, you will find a love if its only in yourself.
