Troy Clark
I have been on death row
only a few months, I have heard alot of stories from the men here,
I haven't heard anyone
yet say... "I didn't do it" Am I the only one that is going to die
for something they didn't do ?
From what I've seen of
Texas Justice at my trial, I "don't" think so !
My lawyer, ha ha, right.
Their lawyer they gave me to defend my life, did nothing !
Didn't call any of my
witnesses, didn't even get out of his chair to ask any questions.
It was like, since him
and the D.A. went to school together, go fishing and to church together.
They were working together. Because I didn't have any money to give
him, he didn't care.
The only good thing he
did was do nothing, because now I get a new trial on appeal.
The only bad thing is
it's going to be the same thing all over again.
Because I have no money to hire a lawyer they will give me another one from the same small town and I will Die for a crime that I didn't do, that they didn't prove...My lawyer just didn't not prove I didn't.
I can't tell you the horror of sitting on Death Row for something you didn't do. I can't tell you the loss and hopelessness I feel. My first day here, I slit my wrist, yes I gave up. It was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. Its ironic that a lot of these guys are fighting for their life and I try and take mine.
I still think about suicide but what I think more about is my children and my mom. I just can't give up, I've never given up on anything if I was in the right.
Its time to take a stand and fight for myself, my family, and for true justice ! That is why I am writing this letter now. The guy in the cell next to me gave me this address and told me, "There are people out there that care and will help." Its just hard to believe when people in your own country, state, and country don't care.
If you are reading this and can help me in anyway possible, please "Help me." I don't want to die. My mom has a small group of supporters trying to raise money for a lawyer but its not going so good being a small church in a small town.
Or if you just want to write and give me your support through correspondence you can write to me at (address below.)
