                   A Poem by Mustafa Talib
                        (Andrew Lancaster)
                               Death Row, San Quentin, CA

As a jay bird whistle a tune about a city,
Which remain unknown to many,
But its in the middle of multi cultural mist, and,
Lies under humanitarian skies,
Beautiful construction and architecture,
Which reflects on its unity through diversity.
Look at the Skydome,
Wonderful structure indeed,
Its not exempt of ills of society,
But it provides cures instead of diseases
Harmony and melody,
Compared to America, is so close, but far away,
Like night and day,
Listen to that Miles Davis, sit at the Toronto Cafe
Just looking at a picture you can see voices sing
You can visualize and smell the aroma
Of unity of its people, love for humanity,
The beauty of its people are expressed in its laws and policies
I can see Canada as a superpower,
Using its reserves to liberate, empower and improve our world
Until that day comes I'll dream on,
Lets not forget they did try to aid Somalia
How can you debate that, it was top of the news,
I am just a poet and jay just a bird,
I guess we'll keep singing the
Toronto Blues.
