you will not know what to write to Governor Bush about the imminent
execution of Stacey Lawton
in Texas. As a pointer, here is the message I wrote to Governor Bush.
You can copy it verbatim

Letter from Edwin Stratton - UK Citizen . . .
I am writing to urge you to consider a stay of execution for Stacey Lawton, who is scheduled to die on 4th October.
It is abundantly clear that Mr. Lawton received inadequate and incompetent counsel during his trial. This was further compounded by the appeals process. In the direct appeal brief filed on Mr. Lawton's behalf to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeal, his lawyers gave contradictory statements.
The court noted at several points "that appellants argument is poorly, if not inadequately, briefed." This is conclusive.
It is clear to the myself and to the international community that a miscarriage of justice will take place in the State of Texas if Mr Lawton is executed on the 4th.
The eyes of the world once again focus on the State of Texas, and so I urge you to grant a stay of execution so justice can be done truly and honestly.
