Hello. I want to begin by thanking you
for the great work of charity and compassion you are doing. You are providing
avenue for unheard spirits to be heard,an opportunity for the lonley and
unloved to receive company.
Thank you and bless you!
Along with this letter I have sent you
twenty-nine (29) pages of a writ that was
recently filed in the United States
Supreme Court; these pages are what I
would like you to use to create a webpage
for me.
(See: http://ccadp.org/scottclabourne-supremecourtdoc.htm
)
Yes, I am seeking pen pals through your
generous offer and am requesting a webpage as opposed to option #1 - option
#2 would be far more suitable for
what I'd like to do.
Although I would love it if you would
put the total 29 pgs.of the writ on the website;
I doubt that such an eventuality would
be possible.
Besides, I'm not greedy : )
I would not want to be a bogart and crowd anyone out. However, I would
appreciate your using as many direct quotes and excerpts from the pages
as possible.
As you read the enclosed pages: you'll
find that I am not physically innocent but
that the issues raised go to the heart
of historic American controversies.
I am spiritually innocent.
Mental health, race and racism, drugs,
sex and politics were/are all major issues in my case; in creating a webpage
for me I will defer to your discretion and judgment.
You may use any or all of the issues
you deem necessary. I am not seeking any assistance as to legal matters;
I am just seeking friends.
I have been on death row here since
Feb. of 1983 (17 yrs.)
I will be 40 years old in Sept.
(2000) I regret that I do not have
a photo, due to "security" reasons
photo taking here is strictly prohibited.
I have no preference in pen pals, I
will write to anyone who writes to me.
I am fond of females and males of all
races, creeds, colors, sizes, ages, etc.
Thank you. Please Hurry !
I'll likely be executed within a year.
Peace & Blessings to you Both
Scott

Scott Clabourne's Pen Pal Request - From Transcend The Walls:
I am an exegete by intellect and by spirit and am reasonably grounded in the Word. My having lived here on AZ's condemned row for sixteen years has been monastic; while I cannot engage in self-praise I can claim unity and rank in the ecumenical Body, rank not strove for but rather appointed.
This is not an opportunity for me to
recruit acolytes, I am no one to be followed.
This should, however, be read as being
prolegomenous in that, should you and I correspond, our exchange cannot
be banal.
Matters both esoteric and earthy are part of all human experience generally and individually; I am open for the discussion and/or exploration of any subject within our mutual grasp and consent. I must confess that I will resist an evangelical or fundamentalistic approach of mind-set; and not from a mind or spirit of a mature Nazarite. I'll assume nothing but that you are beyond baby-food, I will likewise appreciate your viewing me from a similar light.
I am thirty-eight according to Gregorian measure and have been incarcerated for twenty-four years by the same measure. I am very much the hard-core graduate of criminalistic life choices; but that only according to the measure of zeitgeist according to American jurisprudence. I will not bemoan any alleged miscarriage of justice; nor will I lament my long enduring incarceration. I will not lament nor claim actual innocence not because I have become accustomed to my status quo, no; I will not cry or prevaricate because to do so would be to engage in gross reductionism. But I will confess that I've never been deterred by punitive or negative reciprocal effects.
I am able, by blessings, to comprehend the profound and engage in the pathetically mundane when necessary. I can be as stilted as any and as silly as most.
I will respond to all who write but the alacrity in which I so do will depend on you. I would like to correspond with men and women in the U.S. and in other countries, as well -- ages 18 to 60.
Write me and make it interesting, whoever
you are.
