POEMS By John Marquard
Striving for that final Truth.
Beckoning It with your call,
Seeking out your own true self,
Voices ring off Hallowed Halls
But once you find that Ecstacy
Beyond the Bounds you flow,
Flying ever-higher into the Sunlight...
But Remember The Paths Below.
-JOHN C. MARQUARD July 24, 1995
Upon a sea o' glass cast was I -
dark an' calm this abyss didst lie.
Lingering upon its gentle currents
borne -
'til thoughts of past remained no more.
Future sights given up as lost -
a sea once calm did churn an' toss.
Into blackness was I thrown-
down deep I sank from surface torn.
Drum beat slow an' even, still -
brightness flash, thunder peal.
Inrush breath, a wailing cry -
reborn on earth, to live an' die.
