On May 12,1997, Governor
Ridge signed Mr. Gibson's death warrant and will do so again soon. On
March 8,1999 a post-conviction motion was filed on Mr. Gibson's behalf,to
the same trial judge which denied him an impartial jury in 1991. Gibson,
a longtime victim of the now infamous 39th District police scandal,in which
several corrupt police officers beat,robbed and falsely convicted young
black males and others from the ghetto streets of Philadelphia,now seeks
a new-trial.He needs help and any financial support he can get to secure
COMPETENT counsel.

Jimmy's case is one of the worst cases of injustice in the USA we have seen,

Ralph Stokes - Info. and Links
Ralph T. Stokes was wrongfully
convicted and currently sits on death row at the notorious SCI Greene maximum security
prison in Pennsylvania . He was one of the subjects of a report by the University of Iowa's Law Department
on death sentences given more to black, rather than white defendants.

Notorious for
the abuse of inmates by correctional staff
There
are reports of guards (state employees) who openly display KKK and white
supremacist tattoos. Lawsuits against the prison by inmates for the
abuses they've suffered were met with retaliatory measures by corrections
staff. Inmates were denied rights
and privileges, including confiscation of all their legal materials and
personal possessions, which resulted in a major hungerstrike by inmates.

Thomas Kimbell - Family Pleads
For Help, Pennsylvania
Thomas was on Death Row
for a multiple homicide that occured in 1994. According to information
provided by Thomas' family, his DNA was tested and no match was ever
made connecting Thomas to the crime. Other possible suspects - one
whom the victims family believed was actually responsible for the murders
- were never tested to see if a match could be found. Please visit

89th Innocent Inmate Released
From Death Row - On October 20, 2000, William Nieves was freed from death
row when a Philadelphia jury acquitted him of the 1992 murder of Eric
McAiley. He was convicted of the murder in 1994 by Philadelphia prosecutor
Roger King, who is notorious for wrongful convictions.

Fred Thomas - Innocent on Pennsylvania's
Death Row, Died in Prison
"Rotten" was the word that Judge William Barry used to describe
what Lynne Abraham, Roger King,
and the rest of the Philadelphia District Attorney's office did to Fred Thomas.
He cited
police intimidation, witness's recantation and general dirty tricks by
prosecution as a proof that "his rights were violated." Barry went
on to say that "every person deserves a fair trail" and that "[Fred] did
not get one." Fred was deathly ill - he had end-stage liver disease,
diabetes and hepatitis C. ...Thomas always maintained that prosecutors realize
they have wrongfully convicted him but are unwilling to clear his name... Though his conviction has been thrown out, and the judge
said he did not get a fair trial, he remains on death row because the state
refuses to accept the judges ruling and is appealing it. If the Philadelphia
PA's office had not filed their appeal Fred would be getting a new trial.
They purposely postponed this with their appeals of the supreme court decision
to ensure Fred died in prison before he was exonerated, as William Nieves
and Otis Peterkin had been of their convictions.

NOTE : Mumia Abu-Jamal is still on death row. Although the death
sentence was thrown out by the Federal Court, the prosecution appealed immediately.
Mumia still resides on death row and is in very grave danger. If
the prosecution's appeal is ruled in their favor, an immediate death warrant
can still be signed.
