             In the name of justice?

There was a time in my youth when I was taught that "justice" always prevailed. As i reach an age where my perception of things previously taught began to be challenged by the dynamics of my own reality, i sought to compare the theory of justice to it's actual practice.  In my analysis of this "mass mess"  I found startling contradictions and eye-opening (for those who wish to open their eyes) disparities between those who distribute justice and those whom justice is distributed to. To understand the pro-found magnitude of these overreaching implications, we must first define justice in theory as being; The process by which every man receives their just due (by societal standards). With this being said, and hopefully agreed upon, i shall begin introducing the myriad of contradictions stemming from this illusive and often vague perception of justice applied.  Naturally, peoples likes and dislikes depend upon their beliefs, which also determine their judgmental views of others.

Herein lies the "criminal justice system", (courts, judges, prosecutors, prisons, jails etc...) where individuals are judged by the same standards previously discussed, (although this fact isn't widely acknowledged nor realized) usually before they're put into a position of being judged. Whenever there's human judgment in effect, there's always a margin of error. Therefore, people often mistake the innocent or good man for guilty, and a guilty or bad man for innocent, in which case the above theory of justice is wrongly applied, but it seems to matter none.  The reality of one's true character is realistically never at issue, only the perceived and final judgment of said individual(s) matter. Although this rationale is totally irrational it goes hand in hand with a perception that's realistically unreal. The innocent or good man, although not guilty, but having been judged as so, will also be punished as so. According to the practice of justice, it's right to punish a man who does no wrong because he's been "judged" guilty of wrong doing.  i think it's proper to assume that all would view this all too common scenario as unjust and backwards.  So in the opposite direction the conclusion will be that for a bad judge of character it will often be right to punish the innocent, when they're actually the innocent.  The exact opposite of giving every man his just due!

When one is judged on the scale of reasonable doubt, how is justice to be fairly applied? Anything less than 100% certainty is a mess.  Thus, the question i pose is, "Can an honestly just man judge and/or punish another on a guess?" And if so, can this man truly be just or honest? He's no less a criminal than the man having been judged guilty as such!  When one is punished excessively or undeservingly it has to make that man less just, meaning making them worse men by the standard of "human excellence." After all, justice is a peculiarly human excellence, or it's supposed to be. A musician or a riding master cannot be exercising their special skill if he makes his pupils unmusical or bad riders, whereas the "just" man is exercising his justice by making men unjust. Or, in more general terms, the good are to make men bad by exercising their virtue - justice.... So if the "supposed" just man is just, the business of punishing people excessively or undeservingly, whether innocent or guilty, must belong to his opposite, the unjust. Unless he, in actuality, is his opposite, the unjust! When viewing the current justice system, prison is theorized as being the line between a "civilized society" and anarchy, but one need not look closely to notice how uncivilized societies ruling class' really are. Today's interpretation of justice actually lies in the interest of the ruling class. Justice or right is nothing but the name given by the men actually holding power in any state, to any actions they enjoin by law upon their subjects. All the laws formed by these despots are to promote their own personal or class interest. There are very few trial judges who merely judge, who rule on questions of law. Appellate division judges are far worse. They're the whores that become madams selling their services to their constituents holding the most profitable political interest. Right or wrong have no other meaning at all! When one is spat upon and has his humanity rejected in the name of justice, how is he to respect that which is supposed to be civil? When proponents of "civil order" manifest the barbaric animality by physically and psychologically ipposing conditions not proper for animals, upon men who've been both wrongfully and excessively punished, who's responsible for the outcome? Even in this light the law of karma is in effect. The cause is always responsible for the actions of those affected by the effect. A being doesn't automatically come into this world knowing. They are taught by others who were also taught; thus, we have a civilized society where the sum of all virtue is respected, or an uncivilized society where the virtues of the few are forcefully imposed upon the many. All the complaints about law and order not being respected, have only one cause; And that's the character of those who dictate said law and order. The law and not justice is emphasized! Law and order were Adolf Hitler's theme at a period of time. His "ethnic cleaning" or "Genocide" of the Jews proved, without a doubt, that 99.9% of the time "law" has nothing to do with "justice", it's the "order" of things.  In praise of true philosophy, the human race will never see the end of trouble until true lovers and respectors of wisdom should come to hold political office, or the holders of political power should, by some divine appointment, become true lovers and respectors of wisdom. How hard can it be to do what's right? Again, that would vary according to perceptions of right and wrong. This remains one vital explanation for the decline of society, and of the individual soul. The lowest depth to which the state can fall is despotism, and in the souls of the despotic few, the three most powerful motives: fear, ambition, and greed have finally triumphed over reason and humanity. Without true justice, state-craft must be either blind and aimless or directed (as it commonly is) to false and worthless ends. Justice in its present form is no more worthy of theory than practice, and those who think to the contrary are those who would next propose bars and concrete around the perimeter of all inner city and urban areas in an effort to "pad" the fears that the haves have of the have nots. It's undoubtedly true that amerikkka is the only country to suffer a decline in civilization without first becoming civil!
