DNA TEST INCONCLUSIVE - EVIDENCE TOO OLD
Amos King - Innocent Man Executed
in Florida: February 26, 2003 JEB's 12th !
Amos King has been on Death Row in Florida for two decades. Thanks
to Barry
Scheck from the Innocence Project, Governor Jeb Bush issued a 30 day
stay so that advanced DNA testing could be done on the Caucasian hair
and fingernail scrapings. Amos is an innocent
man, and the DNA test may have been his last chance to be exonerated. The
three pubic hairs and scrapings recovered from under Brady's fingernails
were too degraded to yield any results, evidence that might still have
been testable was destroyed or lost
by the state years ago. Amos has been an accomplished
jail house lawyer for years now, who had been plagued with the inability
to obtain effective counsel, partially due to the fact that he has initiated
and won legal challenges against members of the legal community in Florida.

The state Supreme Court
rejected two efforts to stop the execution based on claims she was mentally
ill and therefore not competent to be executed. The State's
psychiatrists disagreed and certified she was competent to be executed...
Aileen has had mental and emotional problems, as well as depression, and
needed treatment - not to be murdered! Her attorney states that Wuornos
operates at the emotional level of a 2-3 year old, and her behaviour should
be understood within that framework. She has recently shown signs of being
delusional; her page includes recent news articles, all the legal documents
and briefs in the case, links to Court TV's real video interviews with Aileen
and testimony segments; and an MP3 of a San Diego band in her support, "For
Aileen."

there. I was in a lot of pain," Demps tells witnesses in the death chamber
before executioners released
the deadly dose. Minutes before his execution, Demps said technicians
had cut him in the groin
and leg and that he was "bleeding profusely." An observer from the State
