Texas Death Row
" Here you see a drawing of Dr Martin Luther
King Jr.,
I did in all ink pen, beside him is a scroll, with his words.
Many that
knew him, know his followers weren't black, white, hispanic, etc...
But almost every race, "A People" and so true.
We got some difficult days ahead."
- Larry Donell Davis
If any remember the Guillotine - a
machine that behead people, that was used for capital punsihment, was a
horror, but as a people it was abolished, and now rises another it's not
the guillotine, cause you can't see it's horror, but it's there
just quieter.
Today so many think by voting for the
death penalty it eases the family's pain. This is not true, and I'm
not saying this just cause I'm on death row.
When I was 8 years old, a man I knew
shot my dad 11 times in the chest, and
3 in the head, and then placed his
head under a couch and then flooded the trailer home with water, with him
dead in it. The man was serving life in prison , lost his mind
and died in prison. Died, and I can honestly say that didn't ease
my pain one bit that he was dead. But what I wanted most for him
to live, meet
him in prison and he tell me he was
sorry and please forgive him, and that would have eased my pain knowing
even though his life will be spent in prison, that he truly was sorry for
what he did.
A man from Germany wrote me and said,
I've read about death row on the internet and read books about death row
and said it's terrible ! (But) it's really another story to see it than
only read about or hear it. He also said that he wanted to encourage
me to draw about it all. I truly feel what he's saying cause
a camera, doesn't take pictures, when we're down on our knees
praying to God that he will change us within or the cries and night in
bed a soft tear for someone to care, or the whispers through the vents,
saying I'm scared somebody help me it really wasn't me, yes ! I could go
on but these are the pictures the world doesn't see or know, so we
are classified and treated as animals. When I spoke of Dr.
King, as he said we as a people. Well I'm no famous artist but I
believe God has gifted me with enough talent and words to let more
of the world see the cries from death row but my financial situation
so far has kept me from producing a project that has books, newsletter,
poetry books, of death row not just any book but each book, newsletter,
poem book with complete illustrations. Well I can't do it myself
but we as a people can. Cause taking pictures is one thing, but to
draw the sadness of death row is another you would have to live it to feel
its horror, so now my cry goes out to anyone that wishes to help me produce
this project to help so many see the things they've only heard or read.
If you would like to help me with this and have time, Please write me,
cause with God and as a people I feel we can let so many see the reasons
for voting against the death penalty cause killing on killing isn't the
answer, for our society, Nation.

Larry's Previous Pen Pal Request:
I'm currently incarcerated, I realize some people aren't sure about writing inmates. Sometimes we grow up on the wrong path, I am on one of them people . I choose my life, my friends, all wrong crowd caused me to be behind bars. When I got here I realized I didn't have a friend in the World. No one to write or talk to. I almost gave up on life. But I read my bible and it gave me strength to carry on as well as reasons. I need positive friends in my life, and if you would like to write me, I could use a friend penpal I didn't know what to really write. So I just wrote how I feel. I'm 32 yrs old I take care of myself, and in my life I can't really say I had a friend. I'm an artist, I write poetry, I love riding horses, I learned how to ride horses in a children's home.. I'm single, I have two kids, their mother remarried once I got locked up. I love to write and read my bible. If you're out there and reading this, would you please write. I'm an inmate but I'm also a person that knows this is my last chance to change my life for the better but I can't do it alone. I've chosen God but I also need positive friends, someone I can write and talk to - would you care to be my penpal. If so please write me, yours truly,
