                        My Love

My love will hold your hand
and never attempt to bind your spirit
my love will caress your body
while unfettering your heart
enhance your aspirations
even when your path differs from my own
My love will rise to every occasion
Not solely the pleasant
But the sad, the troubled and angry times
too
My love is extended unselfishly
as a gift for its own sake
it will pass the test of time, of trials
and tribulation
My love for you transcends it all
always, without reservation
till time no longer is.

                THANK YOU MOM

Thank you Mom for carrying me
And suffering the pain of childbirth
Thank you for my health & well being
And my sense of self worth
Thank you too for all the sacrifices you made
especially, when times were rough
And Mom, I can't say Thank you, nearly enough
Thank you for showing me what true love can be
And thank you for showering yours on me
Thank you Mom for always being there
Every precious moment in my life
reflects your loving care

                The Little Things

I wish for you the little things in life
the ones that bring lasting pleasure
Things that money cannot but
Facilitating joy far beyond measure
A sunset at the end of the day
The joyous sound of children at play
rain, falling gently through the trees
a fragrant flower
a summer breeze
all the treasures without strings
all the priceless little things

                        LOVE

Love recognizes no boundaries
it crosses every line
Love is dead and dumb sometimes
as well as blind
Love can lead us all the way to ecstasy
or to a tragic fall
shatter a heart to pieces
knock us to our knees
just to try to find them all
Love raises us to heights
exceeding all our dreams
conquers all adversity
Inspires the ways and means
Love is akin to insanity
defying explanation
The most confusing emotion
since the dawn of creation
But love is something we all need
something none of us should miss
no matter where it leads
be it ultimate destruction or exquisite
bliss

                        FRIENDS

Friends are shelter from the storms of life
Ana a sanctuary too
Friends are steadfast always
And will abide to comfort you
Life with all its mishaps will bring the stormy
day
fraught with heartache and teardrops
Friends help us find our way
With you me friend, my life creator did bless
you've added new strength to my being
restored some happiness
A friend exceeds the highest value of anything
on Earth
And there is nothing under God's heaven
with greater human worth

A cute little boy and a lovely little girl

I heard two children talking today.
And, they surprised me,
with what they had to say.
The boy, a serious look upon his face
said to the girl; Ain't life a rat race ?
The girl thought awhile...
Then shot the little fellow an impish
smile.
She said; everyone seems to be running
here & there.
But, they never appear to get anywhere.
There's not much sense in what they do
and say,
lets forget all that
come on, lets play.
They frolicked off laughing
not a care in the world
just a cute little boy and a lovely little girl

                        May You

May the sun shine enough to make you glow
May it rain, just enough to help you grow
May the wind be always at your back
And may you never miss
ought that you may lack
May someone special hold you dear
And give you shelter
when storm clouds grow near
May your sleep bring real rest to you
And may all you wishes & dreams come true
Know, whatever else may come to be
when you need a friend
you always have me

            The Hand of Kindness

The hand of kindness extend to a stranger
one whose dreams have all died
Touched a heart and created the danger
of tears that have and haven't been cried
banished for the moment the cold of being alone
and warmed a spirit whose only embrace
for too long has been its own
Thank you for the gentle hand
a ray of light in the dark
of Broken Promise Land

                    A life today

Life is a journey from the womb to the tomb
Our right of passage by grace alone
until at its end, we are all called home
so many wonders to see along the way
so much to experience every moment of every day
why then, are so many of us deceived by hyperbole
Hardening the heart
Like a cold wind blowing across the soul
The simple pleasures, we miss or take for granted
replaced by pretty paper lies in the end recanted
sunshine is seldom appreciated without the rain
treasures both, pleasure and pain
to feel, hear, see, speak
to truly live
Whether realized or not,  is what we seek
A flower in bloom, a child's smile
The song of a bird, true relations without guile
such are the things that truly last
Not the temporal disputes that rust & decay so fast
By the time most of us know
Sadly, it's time for us to go
Priorities lost in all of this
Show contemporary mores are truly amiss

                                (untitled)

The meeting of two hearts
The touching of two minds
The mutual understanding
Two people can find
The way that we touch
even though we're apart
The intimacy we've shared
From the very start
you're always on my mind
Just behind the door
We began as lovers
And became so much more
though these are trying times
And heavy the cross we bear
you have my undying love
for always being there
