If we were to read in tomorrow morning
paper one of our other civilized countries were about to execute thousands
of its people for committing crimes, there would be and out cry in this
country from all walks of life to save the lives of the ones that were
to be executed.
Why must we live in a country with
so many doubles standards??? Its time to stop the body count, and start
practicing the things we preach. Maybe we should return to maiming criminals-by
cutting of the hands of burglar's for an example-on assurance cutting off
the hands will deter more potential burglar's. Thirty-Six states and at
least two federal jurisdictions (under the federal criminal
code and the military code) have the death-penalty, and
most of the thirty-six states with the death-penalty is carrying out executions
big time. The state of Alabama just carried out its last execution
less than a week ago. There is no-longer an death penalty in any of the
advanced western countries, even South Africa 110 longer put its citizen's
to death, but here in the United States, the US claim to be the paragon
of all human rights around the globe.
There is ample evidence that innocent
people are occasionally executed, however unintentionally, by a fallible
legal system 19Th by fallible human beings. When the innocent is
executed, who pays for the crime against them and their families???
No amount of money can make this wrong right, but money is always what
is used to try and make right the crimes that's committed against the innocent
and their families by the system. The legal system commit crimes
against the innocent and their families and it never say its sorry for
the pain and suffering it causes. Its also widely acknowledged that
the financial cost of capital punishment scheme are exceedingly great in
comparison to a criminal justice process from which the death-penalty has
been eliminated. It can be expressed in many different ways, but
never really justified, executions will always be nothing more than another
violent homicide. There is evidence's that race-ethnic, origin, sex
and economic plays a part in decisions to carry out the death-penalty.
No state or nation can solve its problems by killing its citizens regardless
of the reason. We all must learn to execute justice riot people,
our children learn from our lessons, we all must ask ourselves what are
the messages we are sending them, that we must kill to prove that its wrong
to kill. Because of all the killing the only value our kids have on their
lives and the lives of others is to take a life to prove a senseless point.
