A Brief History of Gamba Mateen Rastafari

    Gamba Mateen Rastafari is a thirty-one year old African male presently being held on Indiana Death Row where he has been da last twelve years and nine months.

    Gamba is a politically-socialy-spiritualy conscious person.  This transition occurred when he was placed on Indiana death row April 1, 1987.

    Gamba was born to Ms. Barbara Rouster.  His given name at birth was
Gregory Anthony Rouster, born January 7, 1968.  Ms. Barbara Rouster was a prostitute, drug addict and petty criminal, and serving time at da indiana girl school in Indianapolis, Indiana.  At da time of Gamba's conception she was on the run from indiana girl school at da early age of fourteen.  She was captured and then returned.

    On January 6, 1968 she was taken to Coleman Hospital , where, after 26 and
one half hours in labor she gave birth to Gamba.  He was immediately swept away by doctors.  She did get to hold him for a brief period and requested dat he be given to his grandfamily until her release from bondage.  This request was denied.

    Basically Gamba was kidnapped and placed into de amerikan victimization system.

    By da age of eight he was placed into a couple of foster homes where he did not develop properly as a pupil should have.  In other words, he was neglected.

    Throughout his life about the age of ten or eleven he was placed in several institutions, which he stayed in and grew up in.  He did maintain contact with a family, but not da
family-type-structure-community most youth-children have.

    On August 12, 1986, Gamba was convicted -sentenced to death.  Since his
bondage he has transformed mentally, physically and definitely spiritually.  He is a good
person.

    He recognizes with a good lawyer there is a possibility he could have gotten a lesser sentence.

    Gamba is presently-will be entering the last stage of appeal.  His goal it to have a story done on him about his life and how de westernized- indiana-society done him.  He has a lot to expose.
