I plead for your Godgiven mercy, compassion, and sense of understanding, and ask you help me assist an innocent man enjoy the same fruits of the constitution (of due process) that all citizens should be entitled to.
Please direct all your inquiries / letters of support,  etc. to the above mentioned persons (Tracy & Dave - info@ccadp.org ) or to,
                                                                    Mr. Anibal Rousseau #942,
                                                                      Ellis Unit
                                                                        Huntsville Texas 77343
                                                    Congusto
                                                   George

In a recent letter to Tracy & Dave of CCADP . . .

Do not fear the tyrant,  do not fear the evil man.
Look into his eyes with resolute confidence, knowing you are in the right.    He will be the first to cringe, because it is through his lack of confidence, that the evil man exercises evil.    His greatest fear is to be discovered and exposed !
                                                                Love Ya !

Other personal reports on the execution and the grief of his family

GLORIA RUBACThe state of Texas showed its true colors tonight as they used dozens of guards and prison police to restrain the sister of Jorge Cordova who went
running up to the Walls Unit tonight crying for the execution of her brother to be stopped.  Oralia Gomez was overcome with grief as the realization that her brother was being murdered hit her.  Several prison officials grabbed her as she tried to make her way to the door of the death
house and one even had his hand on his gun, giving the impression that if she refused to stop that he would use it.
About 25 family members and friends of Jorge were protesting the execution along with members of the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty. When the cops grabbed Oralia the group began chanting "Let her go!" Protesters ran up to rescue her and several teen-aged nieces and nephews of Jorge surged toward the prison officials.  After a verbal confrontation with the prison officials and the ten or so guards, reinforcements were sent from the prison and another two dozen guards came to the crowd and formed a line to prevent any more of the grieving family from storming the prison.
The confrontation was tense and prolonged.  The guards, cops, and prison goons did not leave after the execution ended but guarded the death house for another 30 minutes, until the last of the family and protesters left.
Texas has executed the 168th person since 1982, Jorge Cordova.  Texas tries to make the executions business as usual but tonight the Cordova family let them know that their loved one was special and that these executions must not be allowed to be the usual order of the day in
Huntsville, Texas.
Many nieces and nephews yelled at the guards that they were going to burn in hell for participating in a murder.  Their righteous anger and grief filled the warm, humid night air and hung there long after Cordova had been executed and pronounced dead.  The crying and wailing and praying of brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews could be heard
in the night.  Their pain seemed unbearable.
The Cordova's thanked the Texas Coalition for being there with them as they headed to the funeral home to pick up the body of Jorge to take home to San Antonio to bury him.
And tomorrow night Texas will again be about the business of state-sanctioned murder as they plan to execute Danny Barber, who will be victim #169.
.... He had sent a real nice letter to the TCADP thanking us for our work and enclosing 10 stamps to help us out.  He said he had withdrawn $10.00 from his Inmate Trust Fund account to contribute toward a prize for an essay contest we are sponsoring for high school students in
Houston.  It's titled "Why the Death Penalty is Wrong"

HERMALINDA AGUILAR :  Dear friends and brothers and sisters in The Cause for Life And Justice, My sister and I witnessed George Cordova execution Feb. 10 th,  as he had requested.
Since then we have been in shock hard to describe,we feel guilty for being there and not breaking down the window and try to stop George from being killed, what we witnessed was a premeditated and calculated homicide by the State of Texas!, as we walked in the small room andseeing him so defenseless on the gurney, strapped all the way down to his feet with his arms all stretched out in a crucified manner, unable to move only his head with iv's in both arms and his executioners at his side.He apologized to the victim's family for the loss of their loved one wishing them that something positive would come out of seeing him being put to death. He Took more than his share of the blame. He encouraged the mexicans to be united. He said that he was ready to go to Heaveneven though he did not think he was not worthy but that he would see us up there. They administered the drugs and He coughed up twice and died.   One hour earlier while my sister and I were at the Hospitality House he called and thanks be to God we were able to talk to him on the phone when he asked for us, he told me to be sure to tell you to keep fighting against the death penalty so Rick can celebrate his birthday (I had told George in one of our visits that Rick had vowed not to celebrate his birthday until the D/P was abolished) and thank you all for your support specially  Dave & Tracy (CCADP)"Canadian Coalition Against the Death Penalty" for helping him share his heart and thoughts with the world and through Dave & Tracy (CCADP) the world was able to see that he was A Human Being, a  person, not just a number.
He said to tell you all Muchas Gracias and Vaya Con DIOS.
His first concern when he first contacted me was of not being able to have a decent funeral and he did not want his remains stay in Huntsville. His wish was granted, he is going to have a decent funeral in his home town in San Antonio Texas ,"E.M.RODRIGUEZ FUNERAL HOME", his
private investigator of 5 years Tina Church from Indiana has paid for his funeral. May George Rest in Peace!

Thanks so much to Tina Church for her kindness

Right up until his execution George was concerned for Mr.Rousseau
as well as Mr.Lim,for more info on their cases see their homepage at:

George was convicted under 'Law Of Parties' Law,  George's co-defendant stabbed the vicim, Joe Hernandez,  in the neck, but was offered a deal to plead guilty to get a life sentence, George refused to plead guilty, so they gave him the death penalty when he was sentenced instead ! ! !

George Cordova in The Abilene Reporter News in the cover story !

"By comparison, the Canadian Coalition Against the Death Penalty posts a
splashy page complete with a rippling maple leaf flag, barbed wire borders, flashing headlines and photos of grinning, waving inmates." Abilene Reporter News (Abilene, TX)   Sunday, January 31, 1999

The Canadian Coalitions... Death Row Inmates Pages were featured recently on the front page of the Sunday edition of the Abilene Reporter News (Abilene, TX)  on Sunday, January 31, 1999 It's a very in depth article, to read it in its entirety go to http://ccadp.org/newsccadp.htm

below is an excerpt from that article . . .

". . . Though inmates plead for pen pals on their Internet sites, only one of the eight approached by the *Abilene Reporter-News responded to written questions.
Less than two weeks away from his scheduled execution date, George Cordova wrote that he didn't know what the Internet was, saying he initially believed it was a high-tech gadget "used by the guys on Wall Street."
On his Web page, Cordova asserts his innocence, asks for letters -- even from those who "wish to throw stones my way" -- and begs for money for a "decent funeral" and a cemetery plot.
He blames the mainstream media for the lukewarm response to his page. The inmate said reporters have inflamed the "incendiary, volatile nature" of the death penalty issue and Texans' desire for vengeance.
"It's an uphill battle, trying to reach minds and hearts of a population that is daily fed a diet of misinformation and propaganda," wrote Cordova, who is scheduled to die Feb. 10 for a 1979 murder. "If I can reach the heart of one man or woman, my efforts have been successful."
He also said the Internet has become a last-gasp venue for inmates to sow some hope.
"We have nothing, and subsist on our hopes and our faith in a better tomorrow," the convicted murderer wrote.
"We welcome whatever entity there is out there that is willing to provide any support, however small, to the men in here."
Lamourie and Parkinson, who update the CCADP page daily, said because journalists too often accept prosecutors' story as the indisputable version, the Internet has become an invaluable tool for offering an alternative perspective.
But, they added, the prospect probably raises inmates' expectations too high, sparking unfounded hopes the attention will win them a reprieve and freedom.     "
