    My name is Bernard Smith and I'm a 46 year old
   black man on death row in Arizona State Prison.
 

                      " A Plea "

This is more of an urgent plea than a question or request as my community ties are virtually none.

I've been on death row for 16 years fighting for a new trial as I truly don't belong here.

I've been studying law for several years as I've come to learn you only receive the amount of justice that you can afford in America.   Much like everything else I guess.

Studying law is how I occupy my time and mind, but without communication outside of the place becomes suffocating.

Death Row is the epitome of loneliness and despair for anyone to concieve, even in a mere dream, to share views and opinions with others can shed light where now there is only darkness.
