Re: "Televise execution of Timothy McVeigh"

    The July 7, 1997 article by Phil Donohue caught my eye.
    Being innocent and on death row for twenty years on patently perjurous testimony, biased judge, planted, altered, and concealed evidence;
traitorous representation I'm well schooled on the politics of the death penalty.
    Former talk show host Phil Donohue's argument is unassailable
regarding televising executions.
    The truth of their refusal to televise executions is the Fear that close encounters with reality will create a backlash and jeopordize this so called institution of punishment glorified by politicians and their cronies in high
places in the media.  Also the fear that many of the cases of us condemned
cannot withstand the scrutiny such attention  will bring.
