AMERICA - WAKE UP
I am only one man, an ordinary mortal man, of flesh and blood, who will die soon and be. forgotten, and yet, what I write and do today can and will affect the world for centuries to come.
I sit and wonder, why is so much emphasis placed upon my existence, a person who has besn locked away from all society and classified as a threat to civilization?
I absorb mself in a manifold of activities in the solitude of my cell as I listen to my dying declamations, and ponder at my sense of history is it wrestles with the sane appraisal of known facts. And I realize; it is not I who is locked-up away from society, but society who is locked-up away from themselves, from the truth.
They clothe their barbarisms in politeness’s and call themselves civilized. They are Pontius Pilates who delude themselves. They economically enslave people and call it welfare and depression. They allow in a hundred tubercular immigrants and beat their breast in smug selfrighteousness, ignoring millions more, broken by a war from which they grew rich.
By selective immigration, denying visas, they sentence families and children to misery and sometimes death, the avert their eyes an nostrils that they shall not see or smell those they break and turn down, To rationalize their hypocrisy, they create laws and regulations....."paragraph 3, of section 4,....,subsections 5,6,7,8,9, of section 10, penal code 123, stat, 987, etc, etc, etc.
Society is incapable of solving the problems it creates. Prisons are evidence to this fact. When society (Capitalist) is pushed to the wall by shrinking world markets, they try to save their system by taking it out of the workers (working class). Fascism is society’s (Capitalists) last resort. Ronald Reagan and George Bush are evidence of this. They are both fine protege' of Calvin Coolidge, the bosses man. The bosses dream of the time when there was no social security, no unemployment insurance, no medicare or medicaid, above all, they dream of the time when there were no unions.
It is shocking to think that we the people put these type of people into goverment. We are so quick to vote them in, and so unable to get them out.
The future of our country and the world depends upon the victory of the international working class. What we need is a system which puts human needs before profits. And the fact is, every human being needs food, clothes and shelter. But the present threat of Bush in office is that he does not care about the suffering of the poor people. His only concern is capitalism and fascism.
Che Guevara was right when
he spoke at the United Nations on Dec. 11, 1964 and said:
“The imperialists are preparing to repress the people of America and
are setting up an international ring of crime”.
“The United States intervenes in America while invoking the ‘defense of the free institutions'.....How can they presume to be the guardians of freedom’ when they kill their own children and discriminate against them because of the color of their skin; when they not only free the murderers of blacks, but even protect them while punishing the black people becausc they demand their legitimate rights as free men?”
Is this the type of government we vote into office to represent us? Is this the type of society we want? We must wake up and do something, we must stop accepting excuses, we must stop getting stepped on and misused, we must unite.
We are a mirror of life itself;
our weakness and our smallness's; and yet, always beyond them, the height
which human beings can attain. Freedom is a height, in whatever form and
by whichever measure. If, to sustain the greater part, a little must be
lost, it is a sacrifice worth making.
