DAMON RICHARDSON I am a 35 years old young man. I
am currently living on death row in the State of Texas. I am

to headquarters, accusing you of murder and all types of other deeds;
smeared, sneered, and jeered by the inhabitants, not understanding a
word said, you were taken to court, given a court - appointed defender
by the same system that is seeking your demise, and, with non existent
physical evidence, a
flimsy, clumsy, questionable eyewitness, you were found "guilty," (not
by
a jury of your peers which would be required by law), sentenced to
death,
and shipped to that country's most notorious death row. (Texas

currently on death row here in the state of Texas. I have been here for
a total of five years, I have been incarcerated for almost seven years
including before my trial. I am a African American, I am 25

understand that. But also it would be understood that one in my
position needs a shoulder to lean on, some one to talk to someone I can

that is unknown, and have been illusive to me] with a friendship

PAUL SLATER First of all I would like to Praise
God for
the many Blessings that he has bestowed on me & my family
! To all the wonderful & concerned people, regarding
justice in America, especially Texas
! My name is Paul Slater, better known by the state
of Texas as number 999208 ! I am a African male inmate on
Texas death row ! I am 26 years of age & have been
incarcerated
since 1995 ! I am writing this in hopes that someone, anyone !
will listen as I try to explain, why I have been wrongly convicted of
Capital murder & sentenced to die for protecting my own life
! On the
date of July 19, 1995 an incident occurred, a drug deal, which I was
the
drug dealer, I was to sell some men some drugs, we ended up having a
disagreement, which put me in a position to defend for my life, as a
result two men ended up losing their lives ! There was
substantial evidence that
would have surely proved that I was reacting to a
violent situation that otherwise, I felt could have cost me my life
! But because of my attorney being very ineffective,
did not investigate
the facts, never talked to my witness, whom had interviewed with the
State
prosecutor attorney and backed up my story, regarding
self-defense!
The prosecutors never told my attorney that they had in fact,
interviewed
my witness and his story had corroborated with mine ! The judge
denied
my attorney the right to present my case in the light
of self-defense, therefore, not allowing the jury to either consider a
lesser charge or find that it was indeed self-defense !
Because the jury was only allowed to review my case from under the
instructions of Capital Murder, I was convicted and sentenced to die
! I'm not writing my story trying to convince anyone
that I know nothing about this incident ! It's a sad situation
when a human being loses his or her life, but it was never my
intentions to take someone's life ! My life was threatened
and I reacted in self-defense ! I'm asking for
assistance of those who are sincerely concerned about equal justice, in
the state of Texas, to please look into my case ! The evidence is
out there to prove that this is a case, where a man was defending his
life,
but as the story goes in Texas ! Because I was poor, I had
unqualified
legal representation to bring out the facts in this case, well, I'm
desperately
writing this letter from death row and unless some one actually gets
involved
in my case, Texas is going to murder me for defending my life
!
Imagine riding down the street, in your car & someone jumps out in
front
of you, firing a gun in your direction, you run over this individual to
save
your own life and because of that, you
are now sitting on death row ! Or lets say, you're a sales man
&
you go to one of your customer's home, you & him have a
disagreement, he puts you in a situation where you have to defend
yourself & because of that you are sitting on death row

of serving a death sentence. For me its losing so many people to

execution chamber, especially the close, respectable people that I

my friends. Then there's the boredom state of mind ! ! My
reading,
nor anything else I do could possible take the place or pass the time
like
an important friend on the outside or someone that understands and
care.
I have found that there is an antidote, that being caring and love that
arrives in the form of letters that float through these prison walls
like MAGIC !!! carrying a drug stronger than poison of
hate. I don't expect pen pals to only write me the positive
aspect of life, because I am very conscious about the tragedies and
misfortunes that occur right before our own eyes. Nobody's
perfect, we have to take the bitter with the sweet. We can share
the good time, as well as the bad. In closing, I would like to

that my name is Pedro S. Sosa, Execution Texas Number 000778, I am a

Spiritual help I need at the present time, what I really need are true
and honest friends whom will not try to pull Our Lord God out of their pockets when

Trial Attorney
and the 14 people of my jury, and Leroy supposedly had given a
confession, and wrongfully placed someone else's blame on me. I
find it hard to believe that my nephew gave a confession, as I was
tried and convicted and sentenced to death with fabricated documents
such as a Confession which is forged with my initials and
signature, and my Miranda warning rights were never read to me on the
night of my arrest which was Feb 4th 1984 and never were until
Feb 21st 84 before taking a lie detector test on that date. I was
also set up by, the trial judge, District Attorney, FBI, The San
Antonio Police Department and by the one and only State's testifying
witness Charlie Esparza. And Texas Ranger Al Cuellar.
At the time of my arrest I couldn't even read a first grade book, not
even a single line on a first grade book, but yet the State made the
Jury believe that I waved my
Miranda right willing, knowingly and intelligently ! And a
federal Miranda
warning Form was forged with my name and used against me at my
trial. I did not learn to read and write till I got here at the
Texas Death Row at
the Ellis One Unit. Everything the state used as evidence against
me
was fabricated. But I couldn't prove anything because the Courts
denied
me the funds for experts and investigators. And a co
attorney. I also have an affidavit from one of the 12 jurors that
convicted me stating that the Trial judge whom was his life long friend
told him to lie his way into my jury panel to help him the judge send
me to death row, but none of the other judges are willing to listen to
this. Fingerprint evidence was also fabricated to ensure a
conviction. I can prove that, with financial help for an
investigator ? The one and only state witness whom claims that he
saw me Pedro S Sosa on the morning of the robbery and Murder has
changed his story 3 times already and two of these times are on the
trial transcript, but yet my court appointed attorneys are under paid
and do not have the time or whatever it is that has kept them from looking into these
facts either, but I have made copies of these documents for anyone whom
is into these facts either,but I have made copies of these documents
for anyone whom is really interested in helping me. I have no
reason to lie to anyone, nor hide anything from you. Well I
hope I will hear from some true and honest friends whom can and are
willing to help me. If you are really against the death penalty, then
this is another case you should look into, so you can have evidence to
prove that the death penalty is wrong, because only the poor are always
being set up and wrongfully tried and wrongfully convicted and

refuse to take them as our own. That said,
we are concerned that the almost universal repugnance felt in Europe
and
elsewhere
for the continued
application of the death penalty in certain American states may also
have economic consequences. Europe is the foremost foreign investor in
Texas. Many companies, under pressure
from
shareholders and public opinion to apply ethical business
practices are beginning to consider
the
possibly of restricting investment in the US to states
