PETER CANTU  Aug 2005 My name is Peter Cantu and I'm a deathrow prisoner writing this letter in order to reach out to the world for a hand in friendship, with the tremendous hopes that some out there will accept my friendship during this time of tribulation.
I'm a 30 year Hispanic and I like reading fictional novels, newsapers, magazines, and listening to any good music. I also enjoy sports and I exercise everyday. I'm normally a quiet person but I do like to engage in good intellectual conversation. I seek anyone who is non-judgemental, open minded, and honest which are mutual traits that I reciprocate willingly because honesty is a foundation to lasting friendships. I live in a world of darkness and desolatin but refuse to allow the negative to swallow me up. This is a world of confinement for 23 hours a day but its your letter that humanize, where the Texas officials have sought to dehumanize me. Its your letters that light this world of darkness and brings forth smiles in a place where smiles shouldn't exist. When you reach forth across a vast ocean thousands of miles away, in an effort to bring friendship, you in essence actually pull a man out of the abyss.  I'm not sure what tomorrow may bring byt today is well within my grasp. In the midst of lifes most chaotic storm, its your friendship that makes me even stronger as I stand in the storm. So I beseech you, with an open heart to please take a moment of your precious time and send me your lines of friendship which will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time in reading this letter and I truly hope to hear from you soon.  Sincerely, Peter

DAVID CARPENTER I really could use someone to write to.  I have just received the death penalty for a crime I did not commit.  It is hard for me to believe that they can do this.  I could never do what I have been accused of.  Let me tell you a bit about myself.  I'm 31 years old, single, I have three daughters.  I like writing and drawing, country and classic rock music, fishing or just being outdoors.  Would like sharing interests with others.  Will answer all letters.  Sincere thanks,

RICH CARTWRIGHT   I'm a 29 year old male who was born and spent 24 years in the beautiful city of Chicago.  I came down to Texas at the age of 25 and was on Texas death row one year later.  I am looking for an open minded person to correspond and hopefully build a meaningful friendship, with.  Death row can be a very lonely and depressing place and reaching out to someone in the free world is one of very few ways to escape the mental and physical torment.  When I was in the free world I made my living as an automobile technician.  I had many hobbies such as building muscle cars, riding motorcycles, fishing, walking on the beach at night, listening to rock and roll, and playing hockey.  As
a matter of fact in 1984 through 1988 the hockey team I played for out of Chicago (The Huskies) were invited to play in the friendship tournament in Kitchener Canada.  I also played for a triple A hockey team in 1988 that made it to the Silver Stick tournament in Ottawa Canada !!  I don't recall the name of the river in Kitchener, but it was froze over and we all went skating down the river and the sides were covered with absolutely beautiful ice sculptures. Maybe I should of moved to Canada instead of Texas !  HA HA!  Thank you for your time and concern.  Visit webpage at: http://ccadp.org/richardcartwright.htm

KARL CHAMBERLAIN    Currently on Texas Death Row for 1 year, white, age  26, brown  hair,
large build.   Interests:  Reading, computers,  dungeons and dragons, renaissance  festivals, writing poetry. One of the most profound joys of living is that Life (or God) can often surprise you. With the systemic, intentional reduction of Man to crushing routine, dehumanizing humiliations, and confining barriers of Hatred and Condemnation (which are harder than the concrete and steel) one is forced to wait with eager anticipation for the mouth of the grave, to swallow us up as an escape from this Hell on Earth. Or, perhaps, wait with fervent faith the Earth Shaking Miracle which will split this prison open to the sky, allowing a Man to walk out thankfully triumphant, with each agonizing step, to tearfully joyous freedom. Or, occasionally, with the inescapable responsibility of past actions, the crushing Love for all humanity, and the weight of this struggle for some type of restorative  Justice, some blend of just Justice and heartfelt Mercy that sings to the Soul sweet songs of redemption, a different Earth Shaking, Miraculous Escape occurs: The Heart of a Man, bound in chains, cracks and splits open, and as each shard of Self falls away, the Glorious Light, that is God, spills through, freeing Life beyond life. This is part of me, part of what I am, yet the Struggle also continues, for those that are continually harmed by the Juggernaut of Death that our system prefers, perhaps because of Political or Sociological reasons, or, perhaps, the blind misguided perceptions of the all too human people that drive our Society. Also I am a poet, a writer, a dreamer, a romantic, a Man who is in love with every aspect of Life, and this funny creature called Man (and Woman) that inhabits it.  I love God, People,Nature, Music, Reading, Cooking, and being totally Real with those who dare to do the same.  I meet and Accept people as they are and expect a measure of the same.  I am unable to provide for myself (and do not want to overburden my mother who still has 6 children at home) so I accept from people what they want (and are able) to give.  Sometimes that is a few photocopies or heartfelt letters, sometimes it is more, especially as it is becoming increasingly clear that for Truth, in our "justice system" one must bring money.  Yet, if you desire to write, for any reason, simply be Yourself, and do so.  For Love, For Light, For Laughter, For Life,

KENNETH RAY CLARK My conviction is based entirely on circumstantial evidence. I was sentenced to death on hearsay evidence, along with an eyewitness, who identified my son minutes after the robbery, but with help from a Lt. police officer, changed his mind saying number three of the five peoples in the lineup look like the robbery.  All together changed his story 6 times.  I'm looking for any help anyone can offer please ?

CHRISTOPHER COLEMAN
As your eyes view these words I am currently confined within the SILENCE and SECRECY of a Texas Death flow prison cell.  My name is Christopher B. Coleman, I am a 27 year old Black Man! I have been incarcerated for four years. I was born December 28, 1971, in Houston, Texas. I spend the Quiet time in my prison cell with a SERENE mind working on my case, reading Philosophy and writing letters. Other then being able to leave my cell for 2 hours a day, five  days a week to recreate,,, some days get very DULL. Most individuals think of Ones who have been sentenced to death by a state or government as the lowest of society. But, a lot of the times, probably a majority, that is not the case. "I" am HUMAN !!!!,,,and so is EVERYBODY else on Death Row. As a brother in this Struggle for LIFE and FREEDOM, I feel it is my  "duty"  to help Educate the masses on the wrought justice system that promotes the death penalty as a majority for the poor and minorities!
I am interested in meeting individuals with UNDERSTANDING and OPENNESS of CHARACTER. So, if you feel the need or desire to write then please contact me at:Visit webpage for more information at: http://ccadp.org/christophercoleman.htm

Texas It's like a whole other country
In a 1998 letter to Texas Governor George Bush, Alan Donnelly, Chairman
of the European Parliament's Delegation for Relations, wrote the following:
"We understand that this is a complex and emotive issue, and I do not propose to rehearse here the arguments that, for us, make legal execution unacceptable under any circumstances. Suffice it to say that we believe the death penalty amounts to retribution rather than deterrence and that its use always carries with it the risk that an innocent person may die. We understand also that it takes courage to stand above murderers and terrorists and say 'we reject your methods and refuse to take them as our own.  That said, we are concerned that the almost universal repugnance felt in Europe and elsewhere
for the continued application of the death penalty in certain American states may also have economic consequences. Europe is the foremost foreign investor in Texas.  Many companies, under pressure
from shareholders and public opinion to apply ethical business practices are beginning to consider
the possibly of restricting investment in the US to states that do not apply the death penalty." 06/25/98
