DONALD BEATY
Date of Birth : February 7, 1955 -  Hometown : Memphis, Tennessee.  My name is Donald Beaty, I'm 45 years old, 6'1", brown hair and blue eyes.  In May of 1984 I was arrested and charged with the murder of a young lady.  Prior to my arrest the news media had a field day with the murder because the young lady worked for one of the major newspapers, and because the police department had failed to make an immediate arrest, the public and news media were asking the police chief to resign.  My arrest caused a great deal of concern, because it was clear the police were arresting me to get the media off their back....to this day, I have maintained my innocence and can only pray the TRUTH comes out one day. Police destroyed major evidence while doing their testing, they failed to keep proper records and threatened witnesses not to testify or to testify falsely.  In the first trial the jury did not convict me because the evidence did not show I committed the murder.   But here in the United States the law allows the prosecutor to seek a RE-TRIAL if one juror votes to convict. ....People are fooling themselves if they think the death penalty deters crimes, such as murder.  If that was true, our government would give out the death penalty for all other crimes.  People are not giving all those who murder the death penalty.   We have become  a society that discriminates against the poor and because funds are not provided to hire good attorneys those defendants cannot receive proper representation and expert witnesses who can do the testing needed.  We live in a world where people call themselves "Christians" but they fail to follow God's laws and God's words.  People always point to one part of scripture, "EYE FOR EYE, TOOTH FOR TOOTH" But God said "Don't repay evil for evil.  Wait for the Lord to handle the matter."  (Proverbs 20:22) and (1 Thessalonians 5:15)  The death penalty only seeks to avenge and God says "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves but rather give place unto wrath : for it is written, "Vengeance is mine", I will repay, saith the Lord."  (Romans 12:19 and Leviticus 19:18).
People believe because I was convicted of such a crime and sit on death row they know me.  How far from the truth that is.  In 1977, the night after singer ELVIS PRESLEY died in Memphis, I was in front of Graceland (Elvis Presley's home) when three young ladies were hit by a drunk driver.  That night I helped save the life of one of the young ladies because "life" means so much to me.  Why would I take a life if life means so much to me.  In the past I may have been involved in receiving stolen property but I AM NOT A MURDERER.  (Visit homepage) for an article which shows me helping the young lady, ...We all forget life is short and we are not on the earth forever.  Our world is falling apart because we have stopped caring for each other, and about the issues in the world.
The death penalty is wrong because it does not deter crime and it is not applied fairly.

SCOTT CLABOURNE
I am an exegete by intellect and by spirit and am reasonably grounded in the Word. My having lived here on AZ's condemned row for sixteen years has been monastic; while I cannot engage in self praise I can claim unity and rank in the ecumenical Body, rank not strove for but rather appointed.  This is not an opportunity for me to recruit acolytes, I am no one to be followed.  This should, however, be read as being prolegomenous in that, should you and I correspond, our exchange cannot be banal.  Matters both esoteric and earthy are part of all human experience generally and individually; I am open for the discussion and/or exploration of any subject within our mutual grasp and consent. I must confess that
I will resist an evangelical or fundamentalistic approach of mind-set; and not from a mind or spirit of a mature Nazarite. I'll assume nothing but that you are beyond baby-food, I will likewise appreciate your viewing me from a similar light.  I am thirty-eight according to Gregorian measure and have been incarcerated for twenty-four years by the same measure. I am very much the hard-core graduate of criminalistic life choices; but that only according to the measure of zeitgeist according to American jurisprudence. I will not bemoan any alleged miscarriage of justice; nor will I lament my long enduring incarceration. I will not lament nor claim actual innocence not because I have become accustomed to my status quo, no; I will not cry or prevaricate because to do so would be to engage in gross reductionism. But I will confess that I've never been deterred by punitive or negative reciprocal effects.
I am able, by blessings, to comprehend the profound and engage in the pathetically mundane when necessary. I can be as stilted as any and as silly as most.  I will respond to all who write but the alacrity in which I so do will depend on you.  I would like to correspond with men and women in the U.S. and in other countries, as well -- ages 18 to 60.  Write me and make it interesting, whoever you are.

DANIEL COOK
My name is Daniel Cook, and I live on Death Row in Arizona. I am 40, have blue eyes, brown hair, weigh approx. 170 lbs, near six feet in height. I am hoping that I can meet people thru correspondence and build a few good friendships. I have been on Death Row for nearly 14 years. Despite the years, I have managed to keep a good sense of humor (mostly at the expense of the guards). I take pride in being honest, sincere, compassionate, funny, discrete and friendly. I have lots of time on my hands these days, so all letters will get an answer. I'm a pretty open person and enjoy sharing my thoughts and
points of view with anyone brave enough to ask for either. I love the outdoors and dogs, horses, cats, writing short stories, poetry and letters. I am educated to a point, never made it to any university,
unless you take into consideration years of reading in a prison law library.  So, if you have qualities similar to mine, and you would like to correspond with me, I welcome your letters. All letters received
will get a reply. If I were reading this ad for the first time, I would take a chance and write to me!
Bye for now Daniel Cook.  Visit webpage at:  http://ccadp.org/danielcook.htm

MICHAEL CORRELL
Hello, my name is Mike and I have been on Death Row  in Arizona since 1984. I was wrongly convicted of murder on the  evidence of one man who was drunk and high on drugs, and testified that I was involved in a robbery in which three people were killed and  another wounded. I was brought here when I was 24 years old and can barely remember what it feels like to be free. I haven't seen stars or a sunset (things most people take for granted, or simply ignore) in all that time.  Sometimes I wonder if things like that even exist anymore.  This  life is a very hard and lonely one and I seek anyone's help, anyone's caring, and anyone's support.  Because I am sentenced to death,  I'm kept locked in my cell and only allowed out for three hours a week to exercise and shower.  I can have no physical contact with others and  cannot work to earn money for stamps, store, etc.  They make the  situation as hard as possible to survive.  Please write if you have a sincere and caring heart and wish to bring the light of day into my life.  I like drawing, most kinds of music, Harley Davidsons, reading books.   I love all animals and nature.  Please keep in mind that I have no direct access to computers or e-mail.  You may also send mail to my address.  Thank you for caring.   I hope to hear from you soon.
